Andrews Marquees had the pleasure of working with Richmond Event Management (REM) to help host three days of fun at Bristol Harbour Festival.
We provided marquees all over the event to house music, art, dance, food, drink, circus acts and more for an eclectic weekend at the Harbourside. The free event was a true celebration of Bristol city and the talent within it!
Music venues were dotted round the harbour, ranging from the SS Great Britain to the Louisiana showcasing musical acts from Bristol and afar. Headlining the event was Dawn Penn, renowned for her 90’s reggae remix ‘No, No, No’. Reggae was only one of the music genres over the weekend. Folk, country, alternative, blues, jazz, dance and Zanzibar rhythms all collated together for a music-filled festival.
If you didn’t already know, Bristol was named European Green Capital this year so the festival worked hard to showcase Bristol’s love of the environment. Cirque Bijou, returning to the festival for the 12th year, dedicated wonderful circus performances to the award with mini play gardens and street theatres.
Cardboard boats filled the river, designed and made by visitors, for the festival’s annual boat race. People of all ages also got the chance to get involved with paddleboarding and other watersports, making the most of the sunshine.
The participating events didn’t end there. Visitors really got involved with the professional dancers and were taught how to tap dance, jive and tango. The Dance Village attracted audiences of 25,000 over the festival and is actually the biggest free dance festival in the whole of the South West.
The festival was a real success, with people of all ages enjoying what Bristol has to offer.
