Hiring a Marquee: What’s the Process?

Marquee hire can seem daunting when there are so many marquee companies to choose from. Here at Andrews Marquees, we try our best to make it as easy as possible. We aim to be make the whole process comprehensive and professional and tailored to your needs. We have many years of experience with working with a whole range of other suppliers so we become a one stop shop for your special event.

Here’s how we normally work: The first meeting and site assessment

When you ask us for a quotation for your wedding marquee, party marqueecorporate marquee or festival marquee, we visit you and the site you have chosen as part of our first meeting. We assess the site to make sure we can provide the right sized marquee for your event.  Marquees don’t have to be huge, we also hire out a range of small marquees.

We then discuss all your ideas with you and help you decide what is crucial to the success of the day, such as any special arrangements you require or marquee licences and what could be optional extras. This means you receive a very comprehensive quotation from us, with no hidden extras.

In addition to the bare marquee, you might like to consider adding:
  • Marquee linings – to decorate the interior of the marquee
  • Flooring – matting, carpet or wooden flooring to protect your guests from the weather or to provide dance areas and relaxing areas
  • Furniture – tables, chairs and room dividers
  • Staging – for bands and speeches
  • Lighting – to provide ambience, special effects and light during evening events
  • Heating – to keep everyone warm, especially during cooler months
  • Electricity supply via generators – for lights, bands and caterers
  • Toilets – for larger events these are often essential!
  • Florists and creative designers – to achieve the theme or look you dream of
  • Caterers and a catering/kitchen area – if you are providing food for your guests

Optional CAD drawing service

For larger events, we offer a CAD drawing service so that you can visualise how your marquee will be laid out. We provide you with a 3d and 2d picture. This will enable you to see how many people the marquee will hold and where bar areas, kitchens, seating areas etc will be located.

Other suppliers who work with us

We work closely with other marquee companies and a range of suppliers to bring about the wedding, party or event you have in mind.

Once the initial discussion is over and you have accepted our quotation, we continue to work closely with you to create a stress free and wonderful day for you.

Marquee set up

The marquee is usually set up at least two days before the event so there is plenty of time for decorating before the big day. Where weddings are concerned, we always set up on a Thursday before a Saturday wedding to give everyone leeway to be ready for the big day (and give everyone less to worry about).  And there is no extra cost for these two days.

Marquee removal

The marquee or marquees are removed promptly at a time agreed with you and your other suppliers. We leave the site as it was found.

Excellent service

Even if you change your mind after our initial discussion, we will do our best to accommodate changes to the original brief where this is possible. Keep talking to us and we’ll take the strain!
