Hundreds of wedding fairs take place in the South West each year, offering everything you need for your big day: from transport and venue options tomarquees, cakes, table decorations and invitations. We’ve put together a few of our favourite upcoming wedding shows to get you started:
The Bristol Wedding Show (June 30, 2013, 11am to 3.30pm)
This show is held at Ashton Court Mansion on a beautiful estate in the west of Bristol. This will make a stunning day out, and you are sure to be spoilt for choice at this event. Admission is free and you will also receive a free welcome drink and a luxury goodie bag. Walk-around models will show off some of the clothing options available, making it easier for you to envisage how it will all look on your wedding day.
The Castle Summer Wedding Fayre(July 14, 11.30am to 4pm)
The Castle Hotel is another attractive venue for a wedding fair. Once a Norman fortress, The Castle at Taunton has been welcoming travellers – including wedding parties – since the twelfth century. Entry is free and a goody bag and glass of fizz will be presented on arrival. Take your entire top table and spend the day picking out the very best products and services for your wedding.
The Wedding and Fine Events Show(September 1, 10.30am to 4pm)
This Taunton Racecourse-based show will bring you into contact with fresh ideas and top-quality goods and services. You can even buy a designer wedding dress from the Pop up Bridal Lounge. There is a beauty area and nail bar if you and your bridesmaids fancy a bit of pampering, and The Paddock Restaurant will keep your energy levels up if you have time to stop for a bite to eat. Admission is £5 per adult (free for under-16s).
Cheltenham Bride and Groom Show (September 8, 11am to 3.30pm)
Find out everything you need to know about wedding attire, cars, cakes, flowers, entertainment, jewellery, favours, photographers and stationery at this Cheltenham Town Hall event. Admission is free and catwalk shows will take place at 12pm and 2.30pm for a little extra inspiration. Built in 1902-03, the Town Hall provides a grand setting for this wedding fair.
The Bath Wedding Show (September 15, 11am to 3.30pm)
If you want to see spectacular fashion shows, taste wedding cakes and check out everything from honeymoon lingerie to intricate floristry, this is the show for you. Whether you want a Jane Austen-style or a contemporary wedding, the Bath Wedding Show will provide what you need to make it happen. If you like beautiful 18th century buildings, walk-around models and goodie bags, you won’t be disappointed.
Some of these shows also offer venues and you can talk through their wedding packages if you decide to have your big day at one of them. Some may allow you to erect a marquee in the grounds or nearby to extend the possiblities of what you can achieve. Alternatively, you could pick a location that is special to you – for example your family home – and set up there without having to pay the venue premium.
