Why Marquee Wedding Venues are Better than the Alternatives

Organising a wedding can be a stressful experience and finding a venue that you like and falls within your budget can prove particularly difficult. Perhaps you want to have a large fairy tale wedding but can’t find a big enough venue, or you’re hoping for a small, intimate gathering but feel swamped by all of the potential locations you visit.

Size and layout

This is where a marquee can prove invaluable. Wedding marquees allow you to choose exactly how large or small you want your venue to be and to personalise the layout. Perhaps you’re having a small wedding but you’ve hired a ceilidh band and need a large dance floor for guests to try out their new moves. Or maybe you want an L-shaped location so that certain guests needn’t be seated near loud music. A marquee can cater for all of these needs.

Using a marquee also means you can choose to have your wedding more or less anywhere. Perhaps your local village green has particular sentimental meaning to you, or your parents would love you to get married in their back garden. Whatever your preference, a marquee can be erected anywhere providing you have permission to use the land.

Outdoor space

The best thing about holding your wedding in a marquee is that it naturally invites guests to enjoy the great outdoors between the key points in the day; weather permitting, that is. Traditional wedding halls can become rather stuffy if they are packed full of guests, so it is literally a breath of fresh air to be able to get outdoors quickly and easily.

If you have a particular theme in mind for your wedding, or have a specific colour scheme, a good marquee company should be able to help. Whether your guests will be turning up in Star Wars gear or you have a particular penchant for pink, it should be possible to reflect this in the décor of your wedding marquee.

Another major benefit of a marquee wedding venue rather than a hotel or hall is that you can be much more flexible about dates. Some wedding venues are booked up a year or more in advance, but as long as one is available, you can hire a wedding marquee any time of year. It is also possible to arrange heating if you fancy a winter wedding and added ventilation if your big day is taking place in warmer climes.

Your marquee provider should also be able to offer advice on lighting, technical equipment, toilet facilities, carpeting, catering and all other marquee-related issues, taking a lot of the hard work out of planning your big day.
